I work with a wide range of people and problems. The single largest segment of my clientele consists of Miami University students who come to me with depression, anxiety, relationship and peer problems, conflicts within their larger family, alcohol abuse and other substance problems, issues of self-harm and general adaptation to the challenging academic and social environment of the University. I have established a good working relationship with the Miami Student Counseling Center and local sources of psychiatric care.

I see adults from Oxford and the surrounding areas with a variety of cultural backgrounds, spiritual beliefs and sexual orientations. At this stage of my career and within the context of Telehealth sessions, my practice is limited to individual work with adults. I work with issues of anxiety, depression, compulsive behaviors, substance abuse issues, anger control problems, personality disorders as well as more severe mental illnesses. I work with both survivors and perpetrators of various kinds of abuse. I also see clients with high-functioning autism spectrum disorders.

Fees and Financial Arrangements

​My fee for a 50 minute individual session is $150. The fee for the initial intake session is $175. I am on the provider panels of the following insurance companies: Anthem (Blue Cros/Blue Shield) United Health Care/Optum (including UMR and UBH) and Medical Mutual. If I am not on your insurance company’s provider list, I will gladly submit claims as an out-of-network provider, but in that case you will need to pay at the time of service and be reimbursed by your insurance later.

I strongly recommend that you contact your insurance company prior to our first session, get the service pre-authorized if that is required, and find out what you can about your co-pays and deductibles. You should keep in mind that you will be responsible for paying my fees if your insurance claims are denied. Some of my clients decide to leave insurance companies out of the loop entirely.
